Osman F. Seden was a multifaceted figure in Turkish cinema, working as a director, screenwriter, producer, and occasional actor. After graduating from the Austrian High School, he pursued law at Istanbul University, though his true passion soon led him elsewhere. Over the course of his career, he wrote more than 100 screenplays and directed an equal number of films, often appearing in small roles within his own projects. Early on, he collaborated with renowned director Lütfi Akad on scriptwriting and later founded the Seden Film Company, through which he produced many of his works.

Seden entered the film industry in 1951 by writing the screenplay for *İstanbul Kan Ağlarken*, directed by Kani Kıpçak. He made his directorial debut in 1956 with *Kanlarıyla Ödediler*. His 1959 film *Düşman Yolları Kesti* established him as a major director in Turkish cinema. Among his most notable works are *Namus Uğruna* (1960) and *Çalıkuşu* (1966). While he was best known for sentimental dramas, he also directed lighter fare, including the beloved *Cilalı İbo* comedy series featuring Feridun Karakaya. In his later years, Seden directed numerous television series.

His artistic contributions earned him several awards, and in 1991, the Turkish Ministry of Culture honored him with the title of State Artist. Seden passed away at age 74 from prostate cancer. He was also the grandson of Şeyh Ahmet Hamdi Efendi, a former district governor of Ceyhan, Adana.
