After his clan, along with his wife and infant daughter Néa, is brutally slaughtered, Ao, a distraught Neandertal man, resolves to leave the northern lands he has called home and journey south to his birthplace. His goal is to reunite with his twin brother, whom he lost contact with at the age of nine. Throughout his perilous journey back, he encounters Aki, a woman from the Homo Sapiens species...
