In 1911–12, Romanian filmmaker Grigore Brezianu teamed up with wealthy financier Leon Popescu to produce "Romania's Independence," a two-hour epic that meticulously recreated the real 1877 war for independence. "Restul e tacere" loosely traces the making of that film, blending fact with fiction to tell the behind-the-scenes story of its ambitious production.
