Through the unlikely story of Michael Clegg—a former Catholic priest who first introduced MDMA to the world and later named it ‘Ecstasy’—this documentary explores art, politics, and consciousness. It follows Clegg from his days as a drug kingpin to his current life as an enlightened yogi. The film also traces the intertwined fates of Clegg, chemist Carina Leveriza, and psychedelics advocate Rick Doblin, each bound to MDMA’s wild journey from discovery to criminalization and its recent return from the shadows.
