The story centers on Merlin, the eternal offspring of the bard Taliesin and Charis, an Atlantean princess. It explores his sorrowful childhood, spiral into insanity, and mysterious vanishing that contribute to his legendary status. Taking place prior to King Arthur’s arrival, Merlin, believed to be dead or merely a myth, returns to Sub-Roman Britain to bring together the divided kingdoms facing the menace of Saxon invaders.
