Thom Payne, a 44-year-old advertising executive, faces an identity crisis when his ambitious 25-year-old boss enters the scene, spouting trendy buzzwords like "digital," "social," and "viral." Is Thom simply out of touch and in need of a "rebranding," or does he suffer from a "low joy ceiling"? As he navigates the complexities of modern life, he questions whether the pursuit of true happiness is a realistic goal. In a world rife with absurdities, perhaps settling for a state of being "happyish" is the most anyone can truly achieve.
