Television networks are locked in a fierce battle for supremacy, where control of the airwaves determines the fate of a dystopian society. Edison Carter, a top reporter for Network 23, stumbles upon a dark secret that threatens the station's grip on its audience. To silence him, they orchestrate a fatal "accident." However, Carter's consciousness is saved and transformed into Max Headroom, the first self-aware digital host. As Max navigates his newfound existence, he must decide whether to align with his creators or help Carter dismantle the network's corrupt empire.
