Set in the early 20th century, Mr. Sunshine follows the journey of a young Korean man raised in the United States. Upon returning to Korea as a Marine Corps officer, he encounters a noblewoman passionate about her country’s independence. Their burgeoning romance faces numerous challenges, primarily stemming from the stark divides of social class and conflicting political beliefs. As their connection deepens, both must navigate the turbulent landscape of their time, making difficult choices that could alter the course of their lives and their nation.
