Vojislav Brajović

Vojislav “Voja” Brajović, born May 11, 1949, in Belgrade, stands as a towering figure in Serbian theatre and cinema. After graduating from the Belgrade Faculty of Drama Arts in 1971, he joined the Yugoslav Drama Theatre in 1969, where he has remained a cornerstone performer. His career spans over 30 films and numerous television series and dramas.

Brajović has earned nearly every major domestic theatre award, including three Sterija Awards for acting, the annual prize of the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, and the CNP award from Podgorica. He has also received eight annual awards from the Yugoslav Drama Theatre in Belgrade, underscoring his sustained excellence.

However, his most iconic role remains Tihi, the sharp-witted World War II resistance fighter in the cult 1970s television series *Otpisani* and its sequel *Povratak otpisanih*. This portrayal cemented his place in the hearts of audiences across the former Yugoslavia. Through decades of consistent, powerful performances, Brajović has become a defining voice of Serbian acting, blending theatrical depth with popular appeal.
