Over decades, the story follows gay partisans Lovro, Nenad, Stevan, and Ivan, who fought against Ustashas and Nazis. Sixteen years later, they’re celebrated filmmakers in post-WWII Communist Yugoslavia, forced to churn out propaganda while hiding their true selves. By 1957, suspicions about their sexuality arise, and party loyalist Emir—himself hiding secrets—is tasked with destroying their lives. As Emir’s convictions waver, the artists’ fight for freedom becomes a desperate struggle for survival.
